ABOUT THIS COURSE
Since most of you have probably never taken an internet
course before, let me explain a few things.
FIRST OF ALL, YOU DO NOT NEED ANY SPECIAL INTERNET
OR COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE TO TAKE THIS COURSE. It would be nice if you had
taken the course on introduction to the internet, but it is not required.
If you can type (even using two fingers), point, and click, you are all
set. You will need to learn how to read your email, if you don't know already.
Any
time you need help, ask Scott Jones (his office is in the IVN room at the
end of the hall) or another student (it’s a good way to meet people!)
Now, for a start, click on one of the topics below. I
suggest reading these in order and doing the assignments as they come up.
How do
I .. take the course, get to different topics, turn in assignments, etc.?
Read this page first, even though it is the most boring one in the whole
course. It gets better after this, I promise!
Course syllabus- Okay,
I admit this is not MUCH better than the first page, but it includes stuff
you need to know about course objectives grading, the list of all of the
assignments (just so you can see what you are getting into, etc.), the
required textbook you have to buy, my email address, phone number and birthday
(just in case you want to send me presents).
